The Botanic Gardens Trip

Last Friday we visited the Auckland Botanic Gardens. We saw lots of plants and we were shocked to found out the Pitcher Plants were actually very small in real life!

Our Educator was called Caroline, she taught us how seeds can be spread by wind, water and animals. Caroline also told us plants evolve according to their living condition, such as water, air, nutrients and light. We learnt that plants which lived in the rain forest develop their leaves to filter water.

We went on the Native Plant Trail where we studied different native plants as well. We also got to plant our own plant to take home at the end. This trip was a lot of fun!
